Unfortunately not an FE..
57 Merc 2dr hardtop wagon
545 inch 385 series,..13 to 1, max ported Ebocks massaged Victor, Dominator, 770 dyno horsepower... C-6 ladder bar rear, with 4'11 gears With a milder 545 it ran high 10s low 11s. I am hoping for a 10.75 or so..

Steve is too busy to go racing. Jay has him on a strict workout plan for Drag Week, and as a bonus he has been taking singing lessons, and learning 3 new songs to sing for Jay while driving during DW.
Wagon looks great!

I thought he might be in training to increase his tolerance to cheap beer lol

I'm taken back by the video.Eye's are in a state of wetness.Sounds awesome... :)

Yes, I appreciate Steve's effort, although I'm a little worried we'll be followed by legions of stray cats as we drive through the small towns during Drag Week...

Steve, Just wet eyes!! lol

That is really sweet looking, Royce! Don't see too many of those old batttle wagons anymore, let alone a 2 dr. Very nice vintage look and vibe.

Excellent...lol.Very happy the car went to you as I failed to bring it to your attention right off.I tried to get Greg to degear it but most of his racing was eighth mile. The 4.11's will be spot on.Please let me know when and where it will be for its new first time out.It seems you spent some time with the paint too.

I'm hoping for a new music selection for this longer tow. After the third time listening to "Operator" by Jim Croce,I tried to counter with "Silvia's Mother" by the Dr.Hook while still keeping the phone theme,I was no match for the trucks sound system.

Steve , the pictures lie about the paint... sitting in the shop for 2 yr it has an nice coating of dust and overspray... I stupidly sprayed some head gaskets with CopperKote without covering it up.. all the upper surfaces have a copper flake in them..looks pretty good on the black... almost House of Kolor.
I just assumed it had 4:11 in it. Greg told me what was in it, but 4:11 stuck in my dry rotting brain. What do you think it has?
-
Greg said he ran 4.30's.You may want to give a look.I started off with 3.70's in my car after seeing what Bruce did with his 500 cube Torino. He had 4.30's to start and went to 4.11's,3.89's and sadly his engine gave up with the 6 cylinder rods before the the 3.70's made it in.With each change the car got quicker and faster.
Did you have the converter looked at?I know I wrecked mine real bad when the engine grenaded.
-
I was messing around the other day and happened to pull the rev limiter chip from the MSD (hidden from view). 8200 rpm . Yikes! I will definitely check the gear ratio..
-
What ever happened to Bruce's Torino? I know he sold it but where did it end up? Was on arrow straight car.
-
I saw it at Rock Falls not long after it was sold.I said wow,Bruce's old car.The owner looked at his buddy and said "that took all of five minutes for that to be pointed out"Haven't seen it in at leased 10 years.Bruce sold it to help his son with schooling.
