I was watching this past weekend engine power did fi tech on dyno. it really did look easy to hook up. so I went to their site and dug into installing it and yes it really is easy to hook up, literally just a few wires, and you don't need to be college educated to do it. that being said and I know their is proponents of injection on here and I am not picking on it any way shape or form. but myself being injection illiterate ill call it, the thing that made me scratch my head was that they swapped injection for a carb and then dynoed and the carb didn't add any torque numbers but it did add about 15 more horsepower if I remember correctly and the hosts of the show honestly had nothing to say they both were surprised, heck I was too. So seeing these injection systems are self learning and adjust to the "driver" ill call it. is that just not a surprise on the power to where the injection system hadn't fully learned the driving habits and or was just brand new with no real time running on it?

Like most here, I like to fixate on horsepower and flow numbers. Being old 'n crusty and working with a dinosaur motor, I tend to like my carburetor too.
To put things in perspective, there's a lot more to driving your car than WOT. What the hell?? No...it's true. If you look at the NHRA Pro Stock national record you'll see that although they are currently running fuel injection, the speed and e.t. records are held by carburetor cars...although probably not for long. But the injected cars won't be a lot faster for a long time.
The beauty of these throttle body systems is that you plop 'em on, connect some wires, run a return fuel line, and run with a fellah that has tuned his Holley to the Nth degree. But wait...there's more! The thing will start up and drive without the fiddle'n around that we all do. Would I give up 20hp to just hit-the-key-'n-drive? You betcha!
Is a full sequential or fabbed kit like Megasquirt better? Yeah, probably. Is it worth the extra futzer'n around? Again, yeah, for some. But I believe a throttle body kit on a 450 inch motor for an 11 second street car would be plenty sweet.

I understand what your saying but me personally my stuff is driven wot at the track its all I know lol. I am just wondering like I said if the injection system just needed more time to "learn" the engine/ driver and or is it what it is. and I agree also on an 11 second car that little bit of loss really shouldn't make a difference. iam just trying to get some decent opinions before I go buy one.

I agree with Tommy, I like the sequential stuff and wouldn't do my Mustang different. However I have done a few of the TBs so far on other poeple's cars, and they do work great on the street. I did a Powerjection and it took a 355 Chebby Q-jet and made it feel like it added 50 ft lbs, while adding smart fast idle, compensation for A/C, demands from the etc. The Holley I did was older, but even then it felt like it gained torque.
I am on the fence for my F100, Jay's write up showed a cost effective way (after the 700 dollar intake is bought) but to be honest, a bolt on TB gets me 90% of the way there if it's decent quality
FYI - the Powerjection was fully programmable, logged for you, and IMHO ahead of it's time, but the parts that came with it were so cheap and the program to set it up was so poor that I am turned off.
