It doesn't look as good in the stripped down race trim version. Probably still weighs 3000lbs.lol

You can sing that song to Jay on Drag Week.

My uncle Bill had this same black '57 with the gold trim panel. As I kid when I first saw it I thought it was the coolest car! It did not have though the gold interior fabric as shown in the linked pic.

Mother traded a 4 door 57 Fairlane 500 white over green with a 292 for the 67 Falcon that I'm still driving.

Lima, specifically what model is your '57?  It has the short wheelbase body, but has the fancy side trim... is it a Custom 300 vs. a Custom?  Congrats on your shootout win!

Fitting, I suppose, because the cars sure have changed. As well as the drivers.

That white Club Sedan is exactly what a '57 drag car should look like. The simple side trim just makes it look meaner, IMO. Nice car!

Bruce...It is a Custom 300.The Club Sedan (Fairlane) is owned by John Feistritzer and is a supercharged y block that has run in the 11.40's.It maybe almost interesting to some that the longer wheelbase cars could be a bit more aerodynamic with a shorter windshield than the Custom style.
