Title: Head gaskets

I'm wanting to use cometic gaskets with a bore of 4.165 on my 4.140 bore block.
Am I cutting it to close ?
I'm sure it's a dumb question but after all these years it's the first time I'll be using a gasket with the tighter bore. Always used the 1020's with copper coat in the past.

Sounds like a question to ask Cometic.  We have used them with exact dimensions on sbfs.  Joe-JDC

I've used .025-.030" clearance before.  No problems.
