Looks like someone has re-popped the original FE oil filter adapter:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ford-FE-Block-352-390-428-Mustang-Cougar-T-Bird-Oil-Filter-Adapter-/222028163357?hash=item33b1e8e91d:g:NIYAAOSwLnlWntbF&vxp=mtr
Probably made in China
Then Ford must have made another run, they are available again at Ford dealers, but even the good guy price is around $90 to $95.

Looks thinner than the original. Or maybe I'm just seeing things.

Ive bought one of these, its on its way to blighty as we speak. I will report back on the quality of the part when it arrives.

I really wonder if FoMoCo will make any changes to the new ones that would distinguish them from old ones?

Here's a link to a guy selling the Ford boxed ones on Ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OE-FORD-FE-BLOCK-390-428-MUSTANG-COUGAR-OIL-FILTER-ADAPTER-HI-VOLUME-GALLERY-/310873692946?hash=item4861841b12:m:mUaTGPWyINwqMnvYxtw-7oA&vxp=mtr
Looks to me that the Ford one has differences, the boss around the oil filter nipple is thicker on the Ford unit, and the Ford one has a internal hex drive on the steel nipple. In the description, the seller references that the Ford part still has the C8AE part number.

I bought a couple of them. Certainly appear usable.

Ford re-running Filter Adaptors:
Off the charts strange
I'd guess it's been 5 to 10 years since Ford discontinued the Filt Adapt, Chrome Dipsticks, windage trays and 67-70 Big Block clutch forks. You just wonder how it popped up?.... Let's make these again!

Sure wish the 427 one with two fittings was available at a reasonable price.
