Hi
Anyone who knows if these covers will both accomodate T&D rockers (street version) and clear the brake booster on a 445 in a -68 Torino GT?

If they clear the booster but not the rockers, would it then be possible to make them do it by either modifying the baffles or use a thicker gasket/spacer (and still clear the booster)?
Grateful for any input, thanks /Jan

They look like 69-70 428 Cobra Jet valve covers. They fit on my 69 Mustang with power brakes with the POPs rocker system and end stands, but I had to take the baffles out of the valve covers. Some have "persuaded" the baffles to work with a hammer, or made new baffles. I chose to run a twist in breather on one side, and a twist in PCV breather on the other. Both breathers have baffles in them, so I don't need the baffles in the valve covers.

They will clear the booster fine because they are a re-pop of the original CJ valve covers. They have a cut back area on one end that coincides with the boosters. And they do clear most all of the aftermarket rockers and end stands, but I don't know specifically about the T&D Street because I've never used them. I have run both POPs and Oregon Cams systems with Harland Sharp rockers under those covers without issues, other than the above mentioned baffles.

I'll be using the CJ valve covers with T&D rockers soon. I just need the rockers to deliver so I can mock them up. I intend to run some sort of baffling in the valve covers. I may need to fab my own baffles but I expect them to fit otherwise.

I have PCV' s in both valve covers, with a breather on the front of the intake. Is this a bad thing?

Another thing you can do if you prefer to leave the baffles in the valve covers is install valve cover spacers. Dennis at DSC Motorsports has them for $135. Here's a link: http://www.dscmotorsport.com/asp/Products/popup_PartDetails.asp?PartID=1140

Thanks for all the replies and input, much appreciated! Hope someone is willing to help me with a few more questions ;)
So the 428 CJ covers will clear the booster but a bit uncertainty about the rockers. Could the pentroof covers then be an alternative or are they to tall for the booster?

I have thought of spacers as well and maybe the half height is the best solution. It's just that they are kind of pricey for me right now. I wonder if a thicker gasket does the trick for rocker clearance under the CJ's, and which gaskets are then the best?
Also, I remember reading that the PCV valves are of different size and that it is important to not get a too small one. How do I now which PCV valve that is the correct for my engine, does the increase in cubes (390/445) affect that?
Once again, many thanks for the replies so far/Jan

Give Dennis at DSC a call. Those pent roof valve covers can be ordered with a brake booster modification where they grind down the corner so it will clear the booster. I believe it is a $15 charge, but I may be wrong. Best to call Dennis and ask him. My 428 Cobra Jet is bored .060, so I believe that equals like 439 cubic inches. It seems to run fine with a parts house PCV listed for the 428 Cobra Jet. http://www.autozone.com/external-engine/pcv-valve/az-filters-pcv-valve/ford/mustang/1969/8-cylinders-q-7-0l-4bl-ohv-cj-hp/918519_0_0/?checkfit=true

Well Jeff, that sure sounds interesting, I'll give him a call. Many thanks for your help.

Called Dennis but unfortunatelly he couldn't help with covers. I ordered a set of half height spacers though so I will work something out one way or another.
Well at least I learned that next time I check clearances before I remove the engine and send it away...... :P :)
