Title: "L1/P1" camshaft for 1966 427 Fairlane?
Post by: 427LX on February 09, 2016, 07:20:22 PM
Saw mention of this Ford camshaft that was used in Hubert Platt's 1966 427 Fairlane during drag tests for a good drag package setup. Haven't heard of that one before. Any specs on that cam?
This was mentioned in the new Ford Total Performance book.

Nope and I wonder if this was an aftermarket cam. I just dragged out for the first time in a blue moon my old O.H.O  (Off Highway Operation) Parts Book and the lengthy section on FE's. Three 427 cams are listed:

C3AZ-6250-AA .500 lift, 304 degrees duration
C4AE-6250-B .500. 324 degrees duration
C8AX-6250-D .600 lift, 330 degrees duration

No other references to  a L1/P1 cam.
