Title: Crank trigger
Post by: fekbmax on January 26, 2016, 08:10:55 PM
I was totally surprised to find out MSD does not make the FE crank trigger any longer. I was looking for one for a friends engine. I'll be using the innovators west setup on mine and could sell him my old MSD setup but I had planned to hold on to it. What are you guys using for a crank trigger now ? Just any 7" wheel ? BB ford or cbevy coughcough uggh.. The pickup mount is no issue cause its easy enough to fab something up.
Wtf would MSD discontinue the FE setup, ?

Actually, I didn't even know they ever made an FE crank trigger.  I've used the 429-460 setup with success, but as you mentioned you have to fab up a sensor mount.  I think I just had to oblong the hole in the trigger wheel...

I have had mine for about 15 years lol. Not sure when they discontinued it. I did just see on MSD sight that they offer a universal 7" wheel kit that should work fine.

I just went with an all-in-one distributor.

It isn't hard to adapt one, i'm using a smallblock Orange engine one, just made a bracket off the two lower right timing cover bolts.
