Title: 300-325hp to the rear wheels
Post by: Old Man 62 on January 06, 2016, 06:42:29 PM
Gentlemen, greetings and happy new year.  For me, January means bonus check, yay! Followed shortly by vacation pay. Time to start buying parts for my first build. I'm almost embarrassed to ask you guys but I figure go to the experts for straight answers. I have a 65 f250, the motor is out due to a broken oil pump shaft.. It's halfway apart now, a 360. This old girl is my sports car, I don't haul or tow anything it has no bed so if it doesn't fit in the cab or strap to the card table mounted on the frame behind the cab, I don't take it. The 360 was making approximately 200hp, yet with no bed and only a set of headers, it was much quicker than I expected. I'm thinking if I could get 300-325 hp to the rear wheels, I'd be doing extremely well. What I would like to know is, is this possible with what I I have. Already searching for a 390 crank, and I recently acquired an Ed  Streetmaster. I was also planning on putting in a C-4 in place of the C-O-M. D2TE-AA heads , stock, Dana 60/3.73. Headers are long tube 1.75 to 3" with 2.5" glass packs bolting directly to collector. Wheel and tire 30", no power steering or brakes. Is this an achievable goal with the proper cam and carb selection? Oh I'm also upgrading dizzy so I can use an MSD 6AL I have.

If you are in the market for a crank shaft you might as well go big. A 410-428 crank would be the easiest but if yer greedy you could use the 4.25" stroker crank and make a 445" That'll give your truck plenty of scoot....A card table for a bed? ???

Actually I was kicking around the idea of a 410/428 crank, didn't know if that was doable. And yes, a 4ft sq. card table. Oh , forgot to mention the 3 lg. pavers strapped over the rear end for ride/traction
