Title: Pictures of modified Tunnel Port intake
Post by: babybolt on March 04, 2012, 08:50:41 AM
I was wondering around a swap meet last summer and took several pictures of an odd tunnel port intake.  Took these with my crappy smartphone - had it serviced soon after - so the size and quality of the pictures are not good.

If I remember right he was asking $1200.  The guy had a lot of cool stuff but wanted good money for it.  I don't know who he was or have any contact info.

Just offhand, it looks rather poorly done. Thin stock and warping. On the other hand, Wayne Gapp had a single plane TP manifold modified by Anteau so that it became a Hilborn set-up and ran it on a Cougar he called, I think, 'Top Cat'. Since the spacing on the throttles wasn't quite the same as the runners in what was left of the original manifold, Anteau had to get a little creative with his 'Heli-Arc'. Brother Lon found it, some years later, at a garage sale and paid something like $50 for it. After it decorated the bench in the back of his garage for a few more years, he sold it once more!
