I have a 72 360 in my f100 and am wondering about the lacking of power? I am putting a four barrel on it. I am also going to put a good cam and lifters. What cam would be good for a 360 with 3.25 gears and a c6 behind it. I want good power but not where I can't tow. Thanks in advanced. :D

I ran a small a small crane hydraulic in mine for years as a daily driver it was all done by 5000 rpm but it is what it was I think it was 194/204 @0.050 and 485/510 lift. Just a little bigger than a stock Fe cam. I also ran a comp solid flat tappet but it was a lot bigger and ran fine on the street with a loose converter but I wouldn't recommend it without valve train upgrades.

I've been sitting on the fence about answering this post....
Finally decided to answer and say that I think I would just degree the factory cam, put a nice timing set on it, and be done with it. (If the cam is not worn, that is...)

You have to keep in mind that it only has about 8.5 to 1 compression.
The smaller 4V intakes and 600ish Holley and a modest RV cam will give it a bit more giddy up
and still be able to lug the loads up the hills.
A set of pipes will give you a tad more grunt also.
And they are relatively cheap in FE world. ;)
Some ads to look at.
