Title: Valve height difference
Post by: ToddK on March 03, 2012, 01:11:28 AM
I've just had a new set of 2.09" / 1.65" stainless valves installed  in my C1AE-A heads. I checked the valve installed heights and the intakes sit higher than the exhaust valves by 0.040". Is this a problem? I will be using adjustable roller tip rockers and will be buying new pushrods after I measure the required length. Will this be okay? The engine is not too wild, just a mild 390 running a Comp 270S cam.

That will be no problem.  Of course ideally you'd like them to be at the same height, but a difference of only .040" won't make any difference to the engine.

Great, thanks Jay. I didn't think it would be too much of a problem, but thought I'd check with the experts. I looked at the Comp website and saw the thinnest lash cap is 0.080", so I assumed I could live with 0.040".
