Can the bolt-on factory eccentric that the common mech. fuel pump plunger rod actuates on from a 385 series be used on an FE?
I've have a few in my "parts stash" , I never parked the two (roller & non-roller) side by side for comparison. To tell you the truth I'm not sure they are exclusively from 385s -- maybe I found them on FEs also - perhaps Rev 105s or Marine 427s? . Regardless I think they are pretty "slick" being a true-roller though obviously it's got to add imbalance to cam having essentially two eccentrics vs one.

I think so but have never tried. On a smallblock the only difference is the length of the dowel pin. The two piece uses a tab that sticks into the dowel hole and needs a shorter cam dowel. The one piece eccentric is located by the dowel sticking out past the timing gear.
