Title: Back in 1968 Titanium LeMans Rods?
Post by: Qikbbstang on November 05, 2015, 11:43:51 PM
For decades I've drooled over the titanium rods pictured in the back room at Tasca Ford. Ti-rods were standard in the 1999-2000 Honda NSX and were said to offer an additional 500 rpm. I had a friend that was maintenance planning mgr in a large chemical plant and he told me how much of a bitch it is to machine titanium.  I can only presume these rods had to come out of FoMoCo's deepest skunk-works.

The bottom right corner picture Tasca's back room copy states essentially matched set of titanium LeMans rods and Ed Pink pistons w/Teflon buttons.
