IF I were a rich man----one of those white ones would sit next to my white '70 Shelby GT-500.  Joe-JDC

Yeah, if I could just win that dang lottery I'd have one too lol. I think Ford has been smart with these cars by varying the engine or supercharger combination a little with each version, it makes sure the NHRA index stays soft for a few years. I will say that these new factory racecars have created a bit of a rift with some of the long time racers and the older traditional stock and super stock cars, the qualifying sheets have become heavy at the top with them. At Indy this year there were a lot of big names with traditional ( older ) cars that they have been campaigning for years that couldn't break into the top 128. I've been predicting that there will be more & more of the older stock and super stock cars for sale as racers that wish to remain competitive make the switch. Unfortunately ( for the sellers ) I believe it will also drive down the sale price of the older race cars.

Interesting problem Kevin.
Does NHRA need different classes for say pre 2000 and post 2000 cars?
Can of worms?

Of course building your own Super Stock engine today isn't on the table unless you last name's Patrick but other then the block not being "rebuildable" due to coated bores and based upon a production "disposable" motor. One can only wonder how many seasons will these high tech marvels last before going to an exotic shop that can work on them?

Many years... Randy Hopkins ran a SS/AH Dart for years and those things are a valve spring eating, high maintenance machine. He switched to a CJ Mustang and hardly had to open the hood other than tech. Now could they go into a separate identity? Stock, Super Stock, and Super boosted?

I think Jay should buy one and let the Drunk Monkey run it at Drag Week next year.

I haven't followed much of the class racing like I used to. Gave up on the pros and NASCAR too. Basically if my friends are not involved, I do not care any more.
