So I cut up a new air gap to fit the adaptor.I had the bottom milled off and I filed off all the lettering.This is the port alignment on it..Thought it would be better than the Torker but its not..
The question is...do I fix it or leave it alone (for the most part)The 427 is just a street engine.Mild in the scense it only has a 270S cam..

Kind of depends. I would probably try to blend back into the intake to match the adapter, at least at the bottom and sides. If I planned on it being a done deal when it's done, I'd also blend the bottom of the adapter and get a good match there. It looks close and wouldn't take much blending, and the adapters port angles would blend nicely to the lower portion of the intake port. But if I had thoughts of using the adapter for another intake in the future, I'd leave the adapter alone and just try to blend the intake as best I could without going crazy at the top and creating a "pocket" there.
But before I did anything, I'd probably wait until Joe chimed in and gave his .02 cents worth. That's my .01 cents worth. :)

When I did the dyno test I ran mine just like that, without any port matching, and on the dyno mule it made the same power as the standard FE Performer RPM. By the way, when you scribed it did you have a gasket in place? The bottom of the port will raise somewhat if you have the gasket installed. You can also get a 0.125" thick 351C 4V gasket, which will raise it a little more.
If you're going to port match it, I'd be most concerned with matching up the roof of the port. So maybe leave the sides alone, but port into the manifold so the roof of the manifold matches the roof of the adapter.

I have a similar issue with the adapter and a Trick Flow intake ( I haven't been working on lately ). By stacking 2 gaskets the port alignment is way better and will require minimal blending, none at the floor.
On your setup I would closely approximate the thickness of 2 gaskets and re-scribe it to see if that improves the alignment also.
I will use the Trick Flow gaskets as they closely match the manifold and the adapter. One of my concerns with the gaskets is that the bolt holes are slotted and there was no way to ensure that they would not slip. I don't want to glue it together, so I pinned the gaskets to the adapter to ensure alignment. I'm sure others will offer more suggestions.

The ports were scribed using the edelbrock gasket for the manifold.I had to trim the gaskets to fit and used the trimmings to space up the manifold for alignment..
I do have a set of 4V port gaskets..
The cam is so small because they were very few cams available in 88/89 when I built the engine.I was in my late 20's didn't know anything about ordering cams and just picked a comp cam that would make torque..It is a solid lifter only eng and I am not risking going through the "holy shit my cam went flat" scenario...The 270 will stay in..
I tend to agree about the roof of the port needing some attention
