Nice work..
is that a GZ vac pump. ? How about the mounting bracket, is that a custom made piece ? Need to fab up a mount for my setup or modify one to work.
-
Everything is GZ. One of the best setups out there, IMO. Comes with crank mandrel, mounting brackets, all hardware. It would have come with the fittings and hoses, but I wanted to make my own hoses to match the engine. Even comes with a little puke tank.
-
Very nice setup. Great build. Thanks for sharing.
-
Nice job on that one, Brent, that is outstanding power for a flat tappet cam. Also +1 on the GZ Motorsports stuff; I have run those pumps on my engines in the past with excellent results.
-
I was very pleased with it.
I realize that we were probably down 20-25 hp to a solid roller setup, but I just felt more comfortable going this way. Used a Comp XTX intake lobe and a High Torque exhaust lobe. No signs of valve float, even at a little past 7000 rpm. Everything was very light, from the hollow stem Ferreas, to the PAC titanium beehive retainers that feel like feathers in your hand.
When I do solid rollers for street applications, I'll use the bushed Crowers/Iskys/Morels, and when you're looking at $1000 for just the lifters, the solid flatties seem like a sound alternative.

Nice.
Apx how much would this motor cost ?
-
Probably in the $18-20k range, depending on the going rate for Tunnel Port heads, intakes, and how much work they need before they are usable.
