That thing is super cool!! I'll bet that thing single handedly started the '70s van craze ;D
Thanks for the excellent post, Heo. I'd never heard of it before.

That is cool!!! :D

Heo, would be fun to ride in that thing; sitting high rolling with the corners! Btw, you'll see a similar SBF with Gurney-Eagle heads, but instead of Webers it has slide-throttle injection in Gurney's '69 Eagle Indycar at the Indy Speedway museum. :D

That is NOT your average 70's creeper van :o That 5 liter in the back is definitely cooler than shag carpet and a waterbed. But not by much ;D

The stock Transit had a small V4 with well under 100 hp
or a diesel with.... even less hp

Perfect to take the family on cross country cruise

I did a project something like that in the late '60s. Used a first design E-van. Took the 170 six out of it and substituted a 302 and C4.

1963 Type 1 Bus, Porsche twin turbo 993 engine, 550 HP :o
This thing would give the SuperVan a good race. I love cool stuff like this!

Way cool! Had never heard of that before.
Back then a 14.5 1/4 was pretty fast but today sooo many family cruisers are faster.

I guess it was geared for topspeed.
Sounds like they have to ride the
clutch to get it mowing
Haha those old split window vw
busses brings stupid money today
even real wrecks
I scrapped a bunch of them as a kid
to get the gearboxes with driveshafts
that had the gear reduktion in the wheel hub
when i built dune buggys ::)
Then i got them for ....free
