Title: Solid mounting engine and trans
Post by: turbohunter on August 26, 2015, 05:01:06 PM
Since I'm building a ground up car all these questions are blazing through my head.
If your engine is solid mounted, should you solid mount your aluminum case tranny also?
As always, thanks in advance.

I use front and mid plates on my race car, and a regular style poly trans mount. Everywhere I read, it was recommended to not solid mount the trans to prevent case cracking.

Thanks Todd
That was my concern. Having like mounts so that one mount doesn't flex while the other stays solid, thus cracking the case.
I'm assuming that the poly mount is hard enough yet forgiving enough to match your plates.
BTW I'm front and mid plating my engine also.
