I know the FE Air Gap 2x4 doesn't alloy Holley carbs. Has anyone tried to see if old Predator carbs would fit?

the people I know that have used a Predator at the drag strip always lost a couple tenth's over the Holley's , based on that I can't imagine the Predator would be any better than the AFB style carbs as a replacement

Can't answer the original question. But if you decide to use the Edelbrocks do not use the 500cfm carbs. Most simplistic booster design in carburetor history - so big and square that you cannot get them lean enough no matter what. They roll rich at a pretty low RPM and just blubber along from that point on. I know what they were trying to do, but its just the wrong approach to take.

The predators will physically fit either in line or side mount. Smaller footprint than the side hung Holley. Two matched and tuned predators work really well together and fabricating a linkage is very easy for in line mounting. Id say use a 1" open spacer on a duel plain manifold with the predators though. Predators seem to really respond to carb spacers on duel plains. I'm not a predator hater and own a few. They worked great for bracket racing and stay consistent. JMO. We know what that's worth LoL .

While I've had good results with the Predator carbs in general, I'm thinking a pair of the 625 cfm Street Demons would be a good choice for the Edelbrock Air Gap 2X4. At least they would bolt on whereas the Holleys do not. The Street Demons seem to be a common choice for the new W series engines (409 based) that use dual quads and those make some good power numbers. Ted Eaton.

Offenhauser makes a carb adapter to do that part number 5880 moves each carb a 1/2 inch.That may work for you. If you want to run holleys

thanks Barry , I have been dealing with that problem and have not cured it yet . sounds like i need to get some carbs .

Hmmmm. I wonder if medium riser or low riser fuel logs and linkage would work then?
