I saw these mentioned in David Vizard's latest book on holley carbs in a short chapter on ignition. I was wondering if anyone has used them, if they were worth it (any type of gain), and durability/longevity? Their design is intriguing. He said when he tested them it increased power and lean burn capability but didn't claim just how much. I have also heard that some top racers and Winston Cup cars have tried to disguise them, so they must work? ??? Sorry for opening this can of worms, but really curious if this is another ignition product that is too good to be true.

i read briefly on their website about them putting a capacitor in the plug wire but to be honest thats what points style distributors had since day one the capacitor was in the distributor.

i guess i should of scrolled down the page farther but wow they sure dont give those plug wires away. 300 bucks for a v8, (ouch)

Yep, I converted my dual point to Pertronix Ignitor III and matching Flamethrower III coil, black and turned so decal is hidden and looks somewhat stock. Also did large cap conversion. Fyi, for anyone who wants to do the large cap conversion cheap, I got the adapter and rotor both for under $10 on Rockauto.com under an '84 mustang. I also added the Crane cap for the blue color, and custom fit some Ford Racing 9mm wires on it. Didn't know if there was still something worth a good gain though. So far, I am very happy with Pertronix. :)

i remember when Mallory came out with the unilite module back in the day, thought it was awesome to get those points out of the distributor . the likes of pertronix and others then came along. a great addition to any good ignition system and dependable and durable enough for many miles on the street.
sweet fairlane by the way Jay, i had a 66 i drug back from the grave. it was a 289 car but once i had it up and running and on the streets you know it had a healthy 390 FE.

The capacitor in the distributor is there to keep from frying the points. Different concept.
