Title: Who can decode this rear end tag for me?

This is from the 8" rearend that came out of my 68 Mustang.  I thought it was just more junkyard scrap, but then yesterday when I was moving it around I noticed that when I turned the pinion, both axles moved - in the same direction!  Could this thing have a Traction Lok in it?  I know less than nothing about 8" rear ends, so any insight is appreciated.  The tag reads:

WCZ-V1
2.79 7GC 930

A small block Mustang with 2.79 gears!  No wonder the car was a dog...

No Traction Lok per the tag, but anything is possible after all these years. A Traction Lok would be 2L.79 in the ratio section. Other info is it's for a '67-'70 Mustang ( and possibly Cougar, I didn't check ) 28 spline. Date code 1967 / July / 3rd week. Medium differential bearing, Medium axle bearing. 930 is an axle plant code.

Yes, it could have a TractionLok differential. Most 8" rears did have high 2 and very low 3 series gearing.

Kevin's 9" site does have some 8" detail, about 1/2 way down the opening  page.

Check with local street rod builders, as they often buy 8's drum-to-drum for lightweight builds.

Rotate one drum if the other rotate the same direction
its alocker if it rotate oposit or dont rotate its no locker

I checked it out in more detail tonight and it is not a locking differential;  the drums moved together at first but when I jammed a screwdriver between two of the wheel studs on one side to hold it in place, the other drum would still rotate.  Then when I took the screwdriver out, they rotated in opposite directions.  Looks like the 2.79 gear set in there, just like the tag said.  Oh well...  ::)

The axles are the same as in a  28 spline 9 inch rearend
I have used a few of them to shortening wider 9 inch axles
in the 80s when aftermarket axles was hard to find
And as said earlier the favorite streetroders axle
so it may have some resale value
