Not sure if posted before, but in case someone needs Mallory parts, here it be.

I liken using a Mallory distributor to eating McDonalds fast food.  Sounds really good, easy, and inexpensive, until you spend an hour trying to set the curve on the stupid thing.

When I was a kid, working on my first hot rod projects---on the family '53 Merc flathead---the Mallory manufacturing facility was about five miles-or-so away. They had a small repair/sales facility on the south side of the installation, right next to their dyno facility. They were very willing to help an enquiring kid and on a number of occasions their help was without charge.

Their kindness earned my lifetime gratitude. And their quality and designs have always been, in my opinion, at least the equal if not superior to other offerings.

I'm VERY sorry to see them go.

Technology has just bypassed them unfortunately.  MSD is the king and rightly so, with the amount of accessories/ignition boxes/distributors/etc. plus the ease with which you can work on them.
