Title: Can anybody identify these headers?
Post by: sideoilercat on May 13, 2015, 10:06:21 PM
Bought these at the swap meet in Denver. He said he thinks they are for Mustang/Cougar, I hope.

Looks like they are old jr headers maybe.

JR, wow I forgot about that name, could be.
Tried them on the Cougar today and no dice, looks like their for a frame car or a pickup, something with a heck of a lot more room than the Mustang/Cougar. Non spring tower application.
Would still like to know what they fit. Any ideas anybody?
Now in the market for headers again, like Jardine or Hedman, old school.

They have the four bolts around the flanges, so they are supposed to fit 428CJ heads.  My first guess would have been a Mustang/Cougar, or else possibly a Fairlane or Torino.  You're sure they won't fit the Cougar?

Maybe Fairlane?
Left side looks a little iffy though.
Overnight them to me and I'll see if they fit. ::)

The top one look like  a Doug's (Thorley) header.  At least one made long ago.

I agree - I think they are an old pair of JR headers.  Pretty certain I had a set of those those on an aqua 1968 Torino fastback in - - holy cow how can it be that long ago - 1978 or 79 ?!?!   :o
