Anyone signed up? I made it in!  :D  but what a mess. I scrambled around for almost 3 min trying to find the sign-up link.
It sold out in 16 min!
-
It took me 10 minutes to find the link!  I thought for sure I wouldn't make it, but I snuck in  ;D  Also, my former trunk money, Captain Stabbin', made it in.  See you there, Alan, hopefully for a little longer this year LOL!

-
Great to hear, Jay! I'll see you there.

-
I also had issues finding a link to come up and it keep taking forever for the pages to load. By the time I found one and entered my info it said registration was full. I sent an email for the waiting list.

Probably be a lot easier if they just let in street cars :P

So are we going to see a RTDW 15 thread? I hope so, I always like reading about your adventures, good and bad. Heres to a good one this year!
-
I don't think I'll do a RTDW thread this year, but I'll definitely do one during the event.  The car's going to be about the same as last year, assuming I get it together in time, so there really won't be anything new to report prior to Drag Week - Jay

				Our loss.
 Love reading that stuff.
 But get what you're sayin'.
-
Well, it was a very tough decision but I think I will go on Rocky Mountain Race Week this year. It will remain to be seen if I try and go on DW also. I have always wanted to cruise my Galaxie through the Rockies and this will be my chance. It'll kind of cool to be in on the inaugural event too.

-
Alan, I don't blame you for taking that opportunity.  The inaugural Drag Week in 2005 was a watershed event for me, and everyone else who attended.  If I had the time I'd do the Rocky Mountain race too.

Will you be posting some updates on the event as you go along?  I'd love to see that...
-
I'll try to post some updates here. I usually post a bunch a pictures on my facebook page. Another concern I have with DW this year is the trip from Indy up to Union Grove. Looking at it on the map I don't see any good way of getting around Chicago and I REALLY do not want to drive my old car through Chicago. They may route us around but I wouldn't put it past HR to run us through the city.

-
I hope they send us around too, but in 2006 they ran us right through Chicago Heights on the south side.  It was an interesting drive...

-
Get some 20 inch rims and spinning hubcaps for the trip, Jay.  I dunno, maybe get a big "Skittles" magnet for the side of your car.
The folks in Chicago Heights will figure you are holding and probably packin some heat and not mess with you :P

That's it... I think we all need a picture of Jay making some gang signs with one sock pulled way up in front of the Galaxie whilst in the ghetto.
You owe it to your fans......  Would actually make a good cover for your next book.

You have a vivid imagination, Drew LOL!  I think I've told this story before, but when I went through Chicago Heights during Drag Week 2006, I was driving my Ford GT.  I was stopped at a light when two guys came up and started knocking on my passenger side window.  I smiled and waved, and the light turned green and I took off; no way was I going to be stupid enough to roll down the window.  There was another light at the next street, and as I slowed down for the red, I looked out the passenger side window - and they were still there!  They had been running to keep up alongside the car!

Needless to say, I went right through the red light and by the end of the next block they had given up.  I was never so glad to leave a town in my whole life LOL!
-
Clearly you've never been to Newark, New Jersey.
For dudes that look like me, I'd about get the same reception parachuting into Mogadishu.
Luckily I dress badly and most folks just think I'm homeless.

Regarding the imagination, nah It's 100 degrees out and I'm in full garb, welding in my shop, so I blame heat stroke for my retardation.  I only come here because I'm in one of those "Jesus man, I suck at building exhaust"  moments.  I've had three of those moments so far, and it's too early to drink beer.

??? ;D ;D  Boy, if there's a rule about that I may be in violation......
