Title: 6v TBI
Post by: country63sedan on January 07, 2012, 09:30:22 PM
I asked a hypothetical quite awhile ago about this, and decided to move forward. I made several trips to u pull it to get tbi's off of 3.1L V6's.  I ordered 3 pieces of 6x61/2x11/2 phenolic, and they got here just after Christmas. I spent most of New Year's weekend in the shop and came out with what you see in the pics. I apologize for the bad photos, a new camera is on the list. Up next I'll tap and plug a bunch of vacuum ports, then work on the fuel plumbing and throttle linkage. I also need to fab up an air cleaner base to use the factory lid. Later, Travis.

Edit- I cleaned the camera lens and took new photos. ::)

Pretty cool, Travis!  It will be really interesting to see how this works out.  Keep us up to date...

Cool!!  That will probably work better than you hope.  What are you using to control them?

Unless things change, I will be using a megasquirt for the controller. I haven't bought it yet, but plan to asap. The idea of building an ecm from pieces is interesting to me. I have this "thing" about building my own stuff. I'm not scared of the building/wiring/construction of things, but the programming will be a learning experience. Life just put up a couple months worth of road blocks, so progress will be slow. Later, Travis
