Title: Fuel cell size

Almost done with rust repair on the Fairlane.
Have stripped the trunk and am about to install new floor and repurpose the space.
I am figuring on a 12 gallon cell. It's a race dedicated car but I can't rule out a few trips on the street.
What are you guys doing in respect to your fuel storage.
For that matter, I'll take any advice at all (and pictures) on race trunk work.

Lots of inspiration here. Rusty and son have built a pretty nice track Lane.
As with all racing how fast you want to go we dictate how much you need to spend and work your willing to do. ::)

I have taken a lot of inspiration from that thread.
They do fantastic work.
I work out of my driveway so I have to be realistic about what I can do.
For instance I'm going to have a pro do my frame connection and roll bar.
I dig that both of you ran your master shut off out the taillight bucket.
That's kinda what I'm looking for. Just cool ideas about accessory arrangement and ease of use.

I did a 12 gallon cell in my mustang. The one thing that I didn't do at the time was install a fuel gauge. I'm reeeealy sick of running out of gas when driving on the street. I had it but was in too big of a hurry to wire it in.  Cool project BTW.

My DD/ECTA Lincoln LS has a five gallon cell in the trunk to hold methanol. The factory battery location is the trunk so installing an electrical shut-off was a simple matter of mounting the Moroso unit on the passenger-side roll-cage back brace and taking the little T-handle pull-rod out through the back panel. When I'm racing I put a patch of tape to write on with magic marker next to the handle so I can label it with a big arrow to call attention.
