I might have missed it, but what heads were they using? What were the cam specs? Why only a 4.125 crank? Inquiring minds want to know.

It would seem that if nothing were changed and the engine was originally optimized for a carb that gains would be minimal. Port configuration, chamber design and compression all can be optimized for fuel injection giving better gains than just simply changing the carb for a throttle body.

Interesting comparison. It would be neat to see a comparison between an expertly tuned carb setup vs. an expertly tuned EFI setup, i.e. rather than the self learning type EFI. I suspect a distributorless setup would unlock a little more fine tuning potential with respect to the EFI? - Garrett
