Title: Jesel solid roller lifters
Post by: philminotti on January 19, 2015, 01:52:55 PM
Jesel makes solid roller lifters for the FE.  Very expensive.  Just curious though, assuming an aggressive 7000 rpm street/strip motor making, say, 750 hp or so, would these be considered a "lifetime investment"?

I've never looked at Jesel's but I know that they are top of the line stuff.  How much are they, anyway?

Roughly $1600, give or take...

Yikes, they'd better be a lifetime investment LOL!

Are they bushed?

I'd rather run a set of bushed Morels for $1000.   No solid roller lifter is a lifetime investment.  You will eventually have to rebuild them, but I honestly think a bushed Morel/Isky/Crower would probably go 30k miles or more with the right setup.

I'm gonna have to switch dynos so I can build some 750hp street/strip motors.

Ha!  Just a thought experiment, Brent.  I couldn't build that combo... Normally aspirated anyway!

Honestly Phil, I'd go for the Morels.  They are rebuildable and I would put them up against any other brand.
