Title: Source for oversize-stem valves?
Post by: CDXXVII on December 22, 2011, 07:37:08 PM
Does anybody have a good source for oversize stem valves for my C3AE-J low riser heads?

Why do you need oversize stemmed valves?  Install a new guide, or guide liner, and hone to fit. Joe-JDC.

I'm just asking a question of the experts. I did not intend to start a thread on valve guides

Used to be a common item for the large volume rebuilders like Jasper and AER.

Sealed Power had them at one time, as did Elgin, and Clevite.  I think most were originally supplied by Manley - not the performance Manley, but his father's PA based business that has since had a couple owners and been sold away in pieces.

Not sure where you get them today, but I wager that an offshore supplier like Dandekar (India) or SA (China) has picked up the business.  Cost means everything in that end of the trade.

Thanks Barry,

The plating company in CJ's post looks like it is in northern Michigan. Ever dealt with them?

Seen ads but never felt the need to use them.  Guide liners "fix" the problem with standard valves...
