And built me a little plow. WOOHOO!!! ;D ;D ;D
It needs a couple of things, brakes and exhaust and the operator is a bit of a nut job, but it
will plow the snow.

I guess that's why you're not the moderator ;D ;D ;D
Edit: On second thought...

It always comes down to math, doesn't it? I believe there's a formula to determine the amount of snowfall one can anticipate and that amount is always directly related to the amount of $$$ spent in preparation for it. Nice lookin' truck though ;D, looks like it'll get the job done if you do ever get any snow up there......
-
Len, it goes something like this.....the more money you spend on preparation, the less likely you are to get snow. Don't spend any money and you will get HAMMERED!! >:( >:(

Just another SoCal nut.

At least we didn`t get the BIG ONE like buffalo did. right Lenz! Besides I left for Dallas just as that
storm hit. Here in western NY, we were just on the edge of that one. Mark Artis couldn`t belive I got there to see him.

Yes Doug, I believe that is the correct expression of the formula, it applies beyond snow removal too. I've been running 4x2 pickups with cement blocks in the bed and one leggers out back for 20 years, just bought a 4x4. S'posed to be 60 here in the snow belt on Christmas eve, guess I'll need to go muddin' to see how well the 4x4 works :(.
Hey Gary, you're right about the Buffalo big one, no one was going anywhere in that. I wondered if that storm leaned up against your place or not, it sat square over the lake about 2 miles north of land here.

We have not had a snow event yet this winter, BUT there is some ice starting to set on my tiny little beach.
That means a big pile of the white stuff is coming.
The old 28" blower is great in the city on a paved driveway, but I live in the sticks and
the pavement is a long ways out. :P
A typical winter wonder land at the lake.

The forest look just like here in nothern Sweden were i live
-
What, no FE powered snow blower to clear the drive?? :(
The plow would have been my first choice due to the heater in the truck!!
The snow covered drive is picture perfect and looks like a nice place to visit. Don't think I could ever get used to that much snow. I'll stick with the humid Houston summers and the three weeks of winter that we get. Currently cloudy and 59.
Merry Christmas Yall
-
Currently 71deg with a low of 67 tonight, Christmas will be clear and 61/40 BRRRRR!!! 8)

Or just like it looks straight up the road from me when it snows. Nice shot Howie, that's postcard stuff right there, 'specially with Shep runnin' down the drive gettin' ready to gnaw on the mailman. From here to there and all the way to Sweden too, Merry Christmas to y'all ;D ;D
-
Nothing but mud here south of Chicago. Nice snow pusher you have ther though, the heater quit in the BOB CAT a couple years ago so I am jealous LOL.
-
As I sit here looking out at the lake it is still snowing right now.
It looks like another plow event.
On one of the snowiest days I have seen in a long time didn't the plow take a dump.
Sitting cold and disabled.

Standing it the same spot as the dog in the first pic. You have to push the snow all the way out to the intersection.

By the end of the day the A frame had ripped apart. Damn!

Back in service with the new plan.

To get out you have to get to the intersection.

Just so I'm not totally losing it.
The Lane's roll bar is pretty much ready to glue it.

The snows gone here, and we're looking at 40+ degrees today. I feel for you Howie :(
-
82* here in San Antonio, and I have already cut my grass two times! Now if I could just get more energy to work on my projects. Oh well, before long it will be summer, and too hot to do anything outside. 8) Joe-JDC
-
Just to keep it in perspective we took on 6" last night and it was 13 when I got up to stoke the fire at 6:00 today. Yup. spring is in the air ;) We still have about a foot on the ground out here below I-90, stuff is like granite.

Gee Joe you're breaking my (26 degree + snowy Chicagoland) heart! LOL!
-
Heartbreak--not! The live oaks are finally dropping their leaves, and I have 63 trees on my lot. These leaves are worse than sand when it comes to getting into everything. I will be removing leaves for the next 3 weeks or so, but at least I can wear my shorts and sunglasses while working. LOL 8) Joe-JDC
-
Joe, I'll mail my sunscreen from last year to you.......not needed here and gee, we wouldn't want you to get sunburned now, would we?
;D
-
Well....let me tell you....i dont need any mosquito repellent right now
and i dont have to cut the grass ;D ;D
-
You guys can't make me jealous of where you live, no matter how hard you try! LOL I could use the sun screen, but so far no mosquitos, and the grass only takes an hour to cut. Tomorrow 83*, sunny, and low humidity. Oh, I better hush, or you all will be moving this way. ;D Joe-JDC

That is a really light duty plow there, Howie. I'm surprised it holds up at all to the snow you get. I have 2 Meyers and 2 Boss plows at work, both using 4 springs and much beefier frames, and they still take a beating and require work on regular occasions.
Here's what happens when you try to do too much with a Chevy. And they wanted me to "fix" this!!??

So, is that the local Chevy dealer giving the thumbs up on the center-truck ground clearance? :o Or maybe a failed attempt at hydraulics to get more leverage on the plow?............
Sadly, that's not the first Chevy from that generation I've seen folded up. Tinfoil frames with zero strength when stressed in the wrong direction. Bet he hit something hard and that load of grit just kept on coming.

It is a light plow, but when you get down the gravel you don't want to be digging out the road.
It doesn't hold up that's why I have to keep welding it. ;D

Actually he wasn't even using the plow, just turning around the circular drive with a load of salt in the spreader when it gave way. After removing the spreader with a forklift, the truck settled back down until the cab hit the bed and I drove it very VERY gingerly back to the shop.
And I know what you mean about digging into the drive, Howie. I have driveway and sod repair to do every Spring.

Here in western NY we got an 1 1/2" Fri night and it was 16*, warmed up to 20S at and was still cold. Got to 40* yesterday and sunny, The buzzards are back from Hinkly so I know its spring! Grape farmers here are in full trimmer mode and hoping for cool weather so the buds slow up . I did count8 motorcycles out yesterday! Lenz the car went to Indiania PA yesterday and will be in Beaver Springs the end of the month.

So ya got the '63 going, last time we talked it was touch and go. I'm there for an abbreviated stay, Friday noonish through Saturday afternoon only, then I gotta beat it back home. Hoping the weather holds, if it goes over to Sunday I miss the show....
