Title: 68 Plymouth: Crankshaft Pulley Vibration
Post by: chris401 on October 17, 2014, 08:27:14 PM
I have not isolated belts from pulley or pulley from ballancer yet. Fury II 318 w/ac has the stamped two groove pulley, built in is a rubber isolated cast iron pulley for the ac. Pulley was rebuilt, had first run today. It has a moderate vibration at idle and smooths out around 1500rpm. Anyone know of or had similar problems with the house brand V-belts?

Belts were not perfectly cemetric but they were not the problem. Checked crank in three spots and it was within .00005 +/-. Found pulley/rubber to be out of round causing the belt vibration. Rebuilder said these pulleys are difficult to spin but he would rework it. This time I am sending harmonic ballancer with it.
