Title: Blue Thunder new T/B head?
Post by: fe66comet on July 07, 2014, 04:35:40 PM
Ran across a reference to a new Blue Thunder Thunderbolt  head coming out, and details out yet? I keep swinging back and forth on my next build and this time I am going to set a plan first LOL. I am thinking it will probably be a big medium riser. They already have a small port medium riser, tall port and tunnel port. The tall and tunnel are probably big for anything but a drag car, so I would be looking for something in between a standard med port and a high riser.

I wish LOL I can't finish my truck this month, and that is my daily driver. I still need welding gas, grinding wheels and a new welding hood. Next month I guess I can get back on that. I broke my collar bone anyhow so I am taking it easy. The new head sounds interesting  though I wonder what the specs. are? Jon Kaase just came out with his cool new 429 Hemi head also but way out of my league. If I was going to go that way I would do a SOHC anyhow as there are more parts available and many off the shelf stuff like headers and intakes are available.

Yeah plus one what you said , i would build a sohc motor to anyway thats my dream lol  but will settle for a all aluminum 482 , anyways F E s  are easier when you already have mounts and brackets and one in your car .. Bud

I like stuffing big engines in small places, that is always fun too. I guess no news on the heads? I wonder what the high riser heads are rated for RPM and HP wise on a 500 cube engine? Thing is the big heads are harder to get intakes for and pull 4000 rpm plus.

Heads are not in production.  Something of a development piece that has yet to see the light of day.

Just wondering, sounds like a promising piece. Not to discount the Felony Head either but I missed the boat by just months on that one.
