Title: Jay or anybody else that know s this
Post by: 57yblock on May 15, 2014, 09:16:51 AM
I was wondering if a swing out door bar is legal when you have your chassis certified for nines. The reason I ask is my car is very close to the nine second zone and it is a bit hard to get into the way the bar is situated. I am thinking about updating it for the possibility of making go a bit faster and not having to lift. :)

As long as they are designed and installed correctly, they are legal to 8.50. Supposed to be a double shear design. Alston sells them among others.

Thank you Jay and Fastback427 thats what I needed to know. I don't know if adding the required bars to the present bars would make it certifyable or not but suppose I would have to take it to a shop in our area with that experience.
