Title: Jeff Gordon Pepsi MAX test drive prank....part deux...
Post by: cjshaker on April 26, 2014, 11:09:45 PM
Some of you may remember the Jeff Gordon Pepsi MAX "test drive" prank that they pulled on a car salesman. If not, here's the original prank....

Many people said the prank was a hoax, but Pepsi and Jeff Gordon insisted it was real. To prove it to one of their most skeptic reviewers, they set out to show him that it was indeed a real prank. I think they pulled it off pretty effectively! You can't fake his reactions ;D

The second one is better than the first. But I still think they used a JG double for the first one. Here's why.

Take a look at the background and one finds city streets in an urban environment, trees and other potential road hazards. Even with police closed roads, the stunts were a tad dangerous due to the landscape.  The big factor though was the driver "rules" contract each NASCAR driver must sign along with his sponsor's "good conduct" contract. No way NASCAR would allow street stunt driving by JG in #1.

Looking at #2, notice it is all essentially off-road once JG takes off into what appears to be a series of small airport sheds or county fairground buildings. Once in a very controlled non-public environment, then the real JG could go wild, as he did. JMO.

You could be right, Bob, but they do claim it was real. I wondered who paid for the damage to the Camaro. After jumping that loading dock entry and exit ramps,  there certainly had to be SOME damage to the lower valance.

And it's funny how that "good conduct" contract goes out the window on race day...lol
