Title: Digital world VS realy pre computer

My youngest son is home from the University during easter.
And since he live in a digital World with 3d printers and computers and so on
but  have started  developing some interest in guns.
I decided to show some realy pre computer Tech. :) :)
I have an old blackpowder navy Colt so i taught him to cast
bullets. Load it up with powder  the freshly  cast bullets and percussion caps
with out pressing a single key on a key board
And he even killed a few of the tincans :)
He tought it was realy COOL that a gun from 1851 you made your own bullets for
and loaded up by your self still worked and he was able to hit something with

Ha ha yea no batteries and no app :o :o, And we even built a fire to melt the lead

My father and brother do black powder, it is fun. We also belong to the threshermans in two counties. Power from water and fire, kids are amazed.

I think what's cool is the marriage between the practical, hands-on world and the new digital age. Imagine young folks looking to the 'Web for answers on how do just about anything and then learning, due to the lack of a mentor/expert teacher, how to paint, build with wood, work on a car, etc.
