Doing some work on my 390, and am wondering if the NAPA MS15166X is still THE gasket to use? I think I read at one of the forums to avoid Fel-Pro's PrintoSeals..
And, should I use the cork end gaskets, or Permatex Black?
Many Thanks.

Napa gaskets are Fuel Pros...Jon

If it is for street duty, and the fit is good, it is hard to beat the regular service MS 90145 as long as no trimming is required. The gasket has a steel core, with the blue coating on both sides, and a nice sealing embossment. We fit the manifold to the heads very carefullly and like the regular Fel Pro. If you need thicker stuff, Cometic has .060, .090, and .120 thickness on their gaskets.

We use the MS90145, or the 1247-S3 for medium riser ports. When we have a ported head that requires gasket trimming we go to the BT gasket -- an Interface Solutions material with the consistency of floor tile.

Thanks guys!! :)
Strictly street use in a pickup.
What about the end gaskets - use the cork ones and hope for the best, or Right Stuff it?

I'm a corkophile but use a dab of sealer in the corners and stick the cork down to the block.

I've always preferred the Right Stuff or Ford TA-31 for the end rails, and skip the cork gaskets. Either way works, though, its all what you are comfortable with.
