Bones,
If it's exactly a 4" bore it's likely a 352... Have you picked up BarryR's book yet?  Has some xlnt info on FE block identification.

Hi Bruce

Yeah i have a couple of books but all the stuff i read about the block id and loads of it does not add up with my block im sure its a 352 but i have no problem with that as its going to bored anyway but getting parts shipped from USA is a night mare
getting quoted some silly prices like $400 to ship a crankshaft ..... bloody hell i dont want it next day lol...

cheers

If it only has the 2 bolt engine mounts it is an early block, '64 and earlier I think.  That is a ridiculous shipping charge for a crankshaft, especially when you've got to pay VAT on top of it...

352's got the C0AE flat top piston 60-65. My 64 390 solid lifter block had C4 cast in the side with the undrilled cross bolt bosses as you have. Is there a date code cast by the oil filter adapter?

If the crank is under 70 lbs it'll go US postal - gonna be close....but usually less money.

$237 for an 8" X 8" X 30" 65 pound package via USPS to the UK.
