Title: Top Loader strength?
Post by: bsprowl on December 12, 2013, 09:32:08 PM
Any body know how much HP/torque you can put through the big-in big-out Top Loader with real sticky slicks without tearing up the Top Loader?

Thanks

Bob

I run a top loader in my mustang with no problems with it yet. At the track with Hoosier quick time pros I side step it at 5000 rpm plus. Car dead hooks at hangs the wheels. I've broken two 9" rears, gears, spools and main caps but tranny is perfect. I don't have power numbers yet since there is not a dyno close but we will be taking it to a wheel dyno in the spring. Motor is a 427 with 428 crank, ported dove medium risers with 1050 dominator. Solid cam.
