Hi Everyone, as posted in my intro thread I’m doing an engine for my ’64 PI Galaxie. It’ll be a stock appearing mill with tri-power. It’ll be 456ci (4.25 stroke 4.18 bore) with factory PI shortys. The original PI engine is safely set aside on a stand and will remain safe and sound, and I’ll have fun with this mill installed.
I have a donor set of C4AE-G heads that among many applications was also used on PI engines. For the sake of stock appearance, I’ll be using these on this engine. I’ve extensively searched this, and other forums as well as the internet and found some info on porting, but nearly no images at all. I’m really hoping someone might have some images they could share to point me in the right direction. I’m all set, with a newly acquired Bosch electric die grinder, variable power supply, and a very open ear, eye, and mind. I have no delusions of radical porting, just CJ valve treatment and good cleanup.
Images, tips, and experiences much appreciated! Thanks everyone.
Jim

Here's a link to my on going project with C4AEG heads. I had these heads ported but probably could have done it myself and got the same results.

I really appreciate the responses guys. I’d seen the mud engine thread while searching and took a lot of info and interest in reading. A really great thread!
Heo, We’ll have to share details about our PI cars.
Some of the images in the search posted are good, and ones that came up in searches I’d done. Others are one’s I’d not seen before, so more good reading.
I guess what I’m hoping for, is someone that ported C4AE-G heads, who had flowed them, and can point out where and what kind of basic work was done with tangible results. Most of the posts and images out there give no real “do this, here, and this will be the result” or conversely, “don’t dare do this, or you’ll negatively effect flow / port”.
Whatever the case, I really appreciate the responses and welcome any other input.
Thanks!

S-A's head porting guide is likely your best bet unless you run across a FE specific link. It's a generic guide but it's pretty good and has descriptive pics too.
