I was looking at electric pumps and it says they are 35 gallons per hour. I thought I read that someone has a 55 gallon per hour. Anybody know a part number to it. And what is the gallons per hour on a edelbrock regular pump or a regular pump in general.

There's more to it than just the "so-called" pump volume rates. ;)

I don't really trust the published numbers, when they are even published at all. The reason is, flow rate under what conditions? T-stat open, T-stat closed, long rad hoses, short rad hoses, etc. All that changes flow rates.
May years ago in an attempt to fix a low speed overheating problem in my POS sqaurebody trail truck I bought a high flow mechanical pump. The stock GM pump flowed about 41 gpm free flow (using a bucket to test) and the new pump flowed about 50 mayb 51 GPM. Spinning it at 3100 RPM which is the fastest I could easily turn it hanging off the side of a bucket with a hose on it for the test. Obviously this is going to flow less when mounted to engine but in this case I wasn't concerned with the actual number so much as comparing one pump vs the "high flow" version to make sure it was moving more coolant.
Not exactly apples to apples, but an mechanicl FE water pump is going to be reasonably close.
The electric pumps would be easier to test with the bucket method and eliminates the speed variable since they have their own built in motor!

So just for information I’m not doing this for horsepower and not really doing for cooling although I did here at low cruising speeds an electric might be better especially in slow moving traffic. I don’t really drive the car a lot maybe 300 miles a year but when I’m at the track the few times a year I would be able to turn water pump on and cool the car down in between rounds. This year at the reunion the rounds went fast especially cause they wanted to get rounds in because of possible bad weather. My car runs a good tenth better if I get to the line at 170 compared to 190 and have the fans come on.

The FE Power water pump adapter “legs” Jay makes allows you to use a CVR Pro Flow 55 gpm water pump body (sold separately). I think that’s the highest flow rating you’re going to get for a FE.
