I removed the equalizer bar from my 1966 Cyclone 390 car. The width is spring loaded and adjustable. The frame side has a .990 ball and the block side has a .630 ball. I'm hoping some of the Fairlane and Comet members can tell me if this is correct for the car. The listed reproduction at Auto Krafters is not adjustable. The site doesn't like my photo extension for some reason. Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks, Chuck

That is correct. Crites did make a replacement z bar that was a solid piece. I don't know if that's what Autokrafters is selling. You can still buy the nylon bushings.

Be wary of the one piece unit.It does not install easily and the one I have here is .250 longer than an assembled factory unit.
If you don’t have some old school pressure plate that takes a lot of leg pressure to release the clutch you will probably be okay with stock components. Examine where the arms attach to the center tube halves. I have had several where decades of use cycles have fatigued the weld point where the curved arm that goes under the steering column attaches to its respective half.

in 1967 my 427 needed a strong clutch often 4500/5000 drops- the linkage started to bend/etc. i took 3/8 round rod and brazed/formed reenforced all the arms and rods and fit with jardene headers -- often checked/replaced the block/frame pivots- had made bushings - metal under dash too if you have apart it is easy to do now and elimate any future problems --also check all the supporting brackets and firewall for cracks from the heavy clutch and brake use you may find breaks around bolts/welds from old heavy clutch use --if old racer john

Thank you all for the replies. It is good to know I have the correct parts. I will wait until the engine and headers are installed to see where I can add extra bracing. Thanks, Chuck
