Title: Muncie FERR hotels
Post by: Rory428 on February 05, 2026, 11:56:19 AM
I am looking at attending the FE Race at Muncie dragstrip in April, just wondering what the hotel/motel situation in the area is. Is there an "official" hotel, like  the Quality Inn in Selinsgrove PA is for the Beaver Springs event. Any recommendations, or places to avoid? How far are the hotels from the track? I have been to Beaver Springs 3 times, looking to give the Muncie event a look.

Track is about 10 miles northeast of Muncie. We stayed near Ball State University, lots off motels/restaurants  lots off traffic but once out of that area fast drive to track. Long drive for you but hope to see you there.  All those 8 second FE, s and Cammers, neat event.

Might be a bit outside your scope of interests, but the Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum, just outside of Auburn, IN (straight up from Ft. Wayne) is a pretty cool place to visit. Lots of cool early flathead race pieces that are really unique to the early days of hotrodding. Stuff like dual plug heads with swirl inducing chambers....which people think were invented just yesterday. They also have one of the original all stainless Fords (a '36) that they produced. Also some really neat all original low mile cars. One, a '32 5 window, is one of the coolest all original cars I've seen.

I'm hoping to make the '26 Muncie meet again this year, but it's not looking good at this time. Made it to the 3rd round last year, just short of the money, but had a blast. Hopefully it'll be warmer this year.

The Holiday InnExpress And Suites Had A Few Rooms Available Late Last Week When I Called And Made Reservations. $102 A Night, Plus Tax. Total Of $435.04 For 3 Nights. They Have Good Continental Breakfasts, But A Lot Of The Guys Had Breakfast At  IHOP Which Is A Block Or Two Away, On The Way To The Track.  Its In Muncie. 4201 W Bethel Ave   765-289-4678.   Press 2 When They Answer For Front Desk Reservations. Hope To See You There.

I ws working on a hotel room discount block for the Holiday Inn Express in Portland but the manager who said she would get a group link as they did last year. However I keep getting "oh, I forgot. I must contact corporate...." It's been a struggle. Woody's price is better that the initial room block quote?

Called This Morning And Double Checked Reservations With The Motel. Everything Is As I Stated In The Post Above, And The Room I Reserved Is Ready For Me When We Arrive For The Event. There Are So Many Sites And Goofy "Services" That Rob People Making Reservations. Its Best To Actually Contact The Front Desk At Any Motel, And Book Directly With Them. Dont Have To Pay Till You Arrive, And Usually A Much Better Experience. See You Guys In April.

Seems that there are THREE Holiday Inns around Muncie. The one on W Bethel in Muncie, as well as two Holiday Inn Expresses, one on Homeland Blvd in Muncie, and the other on Holiday Drive in Portland . Kinda confusing!
