Has any one used one of these on a fe 2x4 intake with 4160 carbs and factory style progressive linkage any info would be a great help.

You can always just run a manual choke. If you don’t want the choke plate, leave it, the rod and shaft out.

It is only for when my A/C is on and car is at idle to prevent stalling Drew. If you have some idea's on what may work it would be great.

Otherwise just run the idle a few rpm higher. 25-50rpm shouldn’t change the usability I wouldn’t think.

I have already bumped idle up 200rpm form 800 to 1k I don't really want to bump it too 1200 as it is only a problem when A/C is on. when everything is up to temp when you pull up to a set of lights it will want to idle down to 600ish rpm and want to stall.

Maybe room on the rear carburetor? Not as crowded on the rear. it won't care which one.

If the idle falls that hard with just the load of the AC, I’d think the carbs are on the lean edge.
Ross brings up using the secondary carb, makes sense but you’d have to make a bracket for it I’d think as the pad on the throttle shaft is different than a generic throttle lever.
As long as you are fabbing parts, makes sense to do it on the driverside and just use it to push the linkage.
Interesting situation, I never considered having to do it. Now I kinda want to make something lol

Engine combo is pretty spicy I had it out on the weekend for a real test in 40deg c weather everything worked great except for the idle when a/c was on.
Here is some pics it looks like I could fit one on the rear carb but like you said I dont think holley makes a bracket to suite what I have.
I think on the back carb would work and that would hide the ugly solenoid as much as you could
If you get keen drew and want to invent something PM me maybe I can donate some holly brackets. I think if I cut there 4150/4160 bracket up and reweld it may work but I can see the mounting screws being right in line with were the solenoid needs to be.

Sanden sd7h15 they are a heavy duty 7 piston universal style pump.

you need to get the idle solenoid and then figure out where to put it on the passenger side, front carb , rear carb and/or the driver side linkage once you actually have it in your hand, on my 2x4 it looks like it may fit front carb passenger side but will need a longer carb stud to accommodate the thickness of the idle solenoid bracket

I hope to do some testing over the weekend to see what rpm I need for a good idle before I can start making a custom bracket

I think you'll be disappointed by the idle stop solenoid. The solenoid is good a "holding" the throttle in position once it is energized but is not strong enough to push the throttle open. If you're idling at a stop and your AC compressor engages, the idle speed will still drop until you tap the throttle allowing the solenoid plunger to extend and hold the throttle in position.
