I have a Ford aluminum FE intake currently bolted to a 1990's raced 428CJ engine and not sure what it could be it has a FoMoCo in a block 1/2" tall 3/4" wide cast on the center of the passenger side of the intake each runner is numbered and there is no date or engineering number currently on it or any witness marks of these being removed. If I had to guess I believe its of the medium riser type. The part is cast of aluminum. Any ideas?

We are going to need pictures.

It's surprising I know what you're talking about, but we have one of these so I know what you're talking about. I asked the same question years ago.
If it's the same intake we have, it's the intake pictured in this thread, just without part #'s. I was told ours is likely an early production or precursor intake to the C5AE-9425-N intake.

I do have the Great Intake Comparo and remember looking it up there before. I found my intake has the oil fill tube the large thermostat opening and no vacuum ports machined but also no engineering number and only port #1 having a number 1 cast into it no other port numbers and no FoMoCo in a box.

Here’s another early 427 medium riser intake manifold that turns up occasionally. You’ll notice that it doesn’t have an engineering number cast on it. One other identifying feature of these is that they don’t have the typical throttle linkage bosses cast on the rear of the manifold on the #8 runner. So far all of these I’ve seen people post have had a date code above the thermostat housing, either “11-64” or “12-64” like this one.

Kevin it does have the throttle linkage bosses, two large separate bosses where the PI intake has two smaller bosses connected by a bridge but they are not drilled. Also it does not have the bosses on top of #1 and #5 runners as your pictured intake has. I always believed it had a FoMoCo cast into it but believe this was from seeing all of the others out there. Is it possible its a reproduction but if it was it was made before 1993. It also does not have the undrilled boss on #5 runner for the PCV steel tube to mount as seen on the C5AE-N. I have pics but am unable to post here.
