Title: Block came with NO 427 Side Spacers (Spacer Fitting)
Post by: dozz302 on December 06, 2025, 12:45:51 PM
Hello, When fitting the spacers in a 427 block (block came without spacers), if all torqued down and crank spins freely are you good to go? I have been picking up spacers at swap meets and have an assortment.

Ford only made 3 thicknesses of spacers, so if your block has the original caps and you have a handful of original spacers, just select them with a snug but not forced fit

If this is a high performance or high value build, it would sure be nice to do an align hone or at least check clearances. Most of the ones that come through here are pretty crooked
