hi guys, i have a quetion reguarding valve stem seals , metal body viton on a bronze guide i saw somebody glue them on and i am now wondering if this really needs to be done or just press them on dry ?? wouldnt it be a PIA to change them later! your help woud be greatly appreciated. thanks

I always just press them on; never heard of gluing them on before. I can't recall having one come off, so I think just pressing them on ought to be fine...

Weird, as the heat/cool cycle + the oil bath would render any adhesive useless in no time. It doesn't make sense either as an assembly aid since the press fit takes care of that.

Always just pressed them!

I've had some ones that were stubborn to get on, but I've never had one loose enough that I thought about doing something to make it stay.
