Title: What’s needed to put BBF where 351 was in 70 Falcon?
Post by: 6667fan on May 06, 2025, 08:45:38 AM
Are the stands the same? Different block plates and insulators?

Thanks

I have done a few conversions using a 429-460.
They basicly bolt in.
I have used both stands from the 351 and the 429 because someone on a forum said they were different and they are not.

UI have to ask is this a 70, or a 70 1/2? Early 70 are the 67 to 70 body style and the 70 1/2 are the 70 Torino body style.

It’s for a 70-1/2 Falcon. Sounds like stands from the 351 will work.
Thanks

Owner of car has not been able to get parts to align. Sourced what were supposed to be 429 engine block plates. After the insulators are bolted to the engine plates the insulator does not drop down far enough to align with hole in frame stands. Something not right.

Engine mounts have a left and right side.  Has he got them on backwards?  That will keep an FE from dropping down into position in a Mustang.  Ask me how I know this... ;D

Someone else has confirmed stands are the same.
The block plates can’t be switched, one side has three holes, the other four. The owner elected to re-drill one upper hole on each block plate. Surprised that was necessary. Makes me think he has the wrong parts.
Thanks for responses.
