I got the sad news today that my friend and forum member, Tom Posthuma, has passed away. Tom was battling brain cancer and went into hospice not long ago, and apparently left us this morning. I think everyone who knew him will miss him. RIP, Tom.

While I never met Tom in person, I enjoyed reading his posts. He was a very knowledgeable and passionate FE guy. You will be missed Tom!

What a huge loss! I'll miss his posts and pictures. RIP

Godspeed Tom, such a sad loss as he was a great contributor to our community.

Very sad to hear. Got to meet Tom on Drag Week some years ago when he was riding with his friend, He was enjoying the old buildings they spotted along the drive, and he shared pictures he had on his computer of old drag strips. Super nice guy.

Although we only met once we hit it off and stayed in touch through email. A true Ford guy who even made time for other marques as long as they were interesting. I'll miss him...Godspeed Tom!

I met Tom in the late 70s, or early 80s, and we lived about 1/2 hour from each other. I had driven from Vancouver to the Winternationals in California with Tom before, and we traveled together for the 2018 FERR at Beaver Springs. We talked on the phone regularly after my wife and I retired and moved 4000 miles away, to the East coast, and it was pretty common to find several Emails or links from Tom almost daily until a couple of weeks ago.I had a face Time chat with Tom just over a week ago, shortly after he went into the hospice, it was painful seeing him like that, he looked like he aged 30 years since I visited with him at home, when I went back to British Columbia for a holiday in late May. So glad that I had that time to see him at that time. He was quite a character .RIP Tom.

I always enjoyed reading his posts, very entertaining guy obviously. Sad to hear he’s gone.

Really sorry to hear about Tom.
I only met him a couple times in person, but talked to him and traded a lot of information over the years.
He seemed like a really good guy, and an enthusiastic FE fan.
Gonna miss him.

Very sad to hear. I never met Tom but I enjoyed reading his posts as he was one of the more knowledgeable FE people on these forums. He will be missed. RIP Tom

Tom had bad hearing, probably resulting from a gas tank explosion he survived years ago (others would know better) so sometime communicating in person was a bit challenging.
He had a gentle sense of humor and seemed to know many in the hobby, enjoyed history.
What set him apart was his heart: he could communicate with pro racers at what seemed like their level, but had patience to try and answer knucklehead questions from neophytes. I have a few pictures of him explaining details to my kids when they were young folks 20 years ago, they liked to swarm him and they are auto enthusiasts. He patiently offered suggests.

Absolutely hate to hear this. Tom was an early FE Forum member and was knowledgeable and comical all at the same time.

Tom was certainly a "unique" individual who could adapt pretty much anything to work to suit whatever current project or whim he had going on. Unfortunately, staying focused and actually finishing something wasn't one of his strong points. He could tell stories non stop, was well read and a wealth of FE and Ford knowledge. He's been fighting health problems (not brain Cancer) for several years now but I'm glad that myself, Tommy T and Gary B got together with him for lunch in August. We're all running out of time so cherish what you and family have. RIP Tom

Bummer to hear about this news, RIP, I never met him but loved reading his posts along with reading about that bad ass home built 390

So so sorry to hear this. I hardly ever post but I particularly always enjoyed his pics from the car shows. Great car pics with a sprinkling of the lovely car show ladies too. If I recall he posted pics from SEMA a few times.(??) Judging from his posts he seemed like a very approachable and friendly guy.
