Hi folks, finally ready to put my truck back together, thought I'd hit the forum up for a clutch recommendation. NP435 with an 1 3/8 input, I'm most likely going back with 38" tires, I will probably tow things, I will abuse the clutch some. My 428 made 534hp and 600ftlbs. I Have a Ram 3 finger here, maybe the off-road enthusiasts have a better idea for me. Thanks friends.

RAM 98988. 11" Long, 550 hp capable. Not catchy/grabby.
I prefer the Long style plates for older vehicles. I also prefer to use a smaller diameter pressure plate/disc when I can. I don't like a lot of weight hanging on the back of the crank.

Are you certain that your NP435 has a 1 3/8" input shaft? Every NP435 that I have ever seen used the same 1 1/16" 10 spline input as a small shaft Toploader.

Definitely check that input shaft size like Rory says. The NP435 I have sitting in the garage is only 1 1/16". Maybe some of the medium duty applications (IH Trucks, etc) for the NP435 used a different input shaft, but all Ford pickup applications used the 1 1/16"

Im pretty sure its an 1 3/8 because I'm the one that put it there. New old stock from a U-haul truck place, left over from the 70's. I think U-haul was possibly the only place Ive seen them, They had a brand new inptut shaft, bearing retainer, bearings all in Ford boxes. The input shaft is the only thing I've ever broken on a 435. I am in the market for a clutch fork however. Thanks Fellas.
